Winter Light by Rory Prout

There is an idea in Irish storytelling that human mood can settle into the landscape; that, as writer Kevin Barry puts it, 'feeling escapes from people and seeps into the stones of a place.'

This exhibition stems from Rory’s interest in descriptions of landscape and environment within Irish literary and folklore traditions. These paintings depict scenes from the forests and chalk lands of the South Downs, and from hills, mountains and farmlands of Rory’s native Munster.

Robertsbridge Christmas Capers!

Come and find us on the evening of Friday 5th December, down the High Street in The Barn Co-Working Space and take part in creating a time capsule to mark the 800th anniversary of Robertsbridge being a chartered village!

Led by local artist Martin Brockman, use paints and pigments foraged in Robertsbridge to decorate a ceramic tile, which will be buried as a time capsule in the new year…

A beautiful collection of gifts sourced from local artists including a selection of ceramics, handmade inks and charcoal, and affordable original artworks.
